Yin classes are focussed on the body’s Yin tissue (connective tissue), rather than its Yang tissue (muscles).  The practices uses poses which require the student to relax their muscles, whilst the body is supported by bolsters, blocks, towels etc in order to allow gravity to gently stress the connective Yin tissues, over a long period of time.  It also incorporates other myo-fascial release techniques, including the use of massage balls, rollers, distraction bands, to release tension in the connective tissue and restore the sliding surfaces between the different layers of Yin and Yang tissue, thereby allowing joints to move properly and muscles to function properly.  Consider this to be essential maintenance for your body!

This class is conducted in a non-heated room and is both suitable and essential for all.
