Core, Inversions and Arm Balances

Inversions (postures where the head is below the heart) have been found to have a number of health benefits, including improving blood circulation and lymphatic function, calming the nervous system and improving proprioception. Arm balances build upper body strength, improve balance reflexes and can help to prevent conditions like osteoporosis.

Inversions and arm balances require core strength, so we’re pairing them together in this class. And, let’s not forget, they’re also fun!!

The class will focus on building competence in the following poses: Headstand, Dolphin, Downward Facing Dog, Chaturanga, supported Handstand, Bakasana, Bhuja Pidasana, Eka Hasta Bhujasana and L-Sit.

The class is not suitable for Beginners: students need to already have a strong Plank, with good spine and shoulder stabilisation.

It is the prefect preparation for practitioners who want to progress to Intermediate level classes (Vinyasa and Hatha 2). Class size is limited to 8 students.
